CoinDesk reports that a Bitcoin developer has proposed a mechanism called ‘landmines’ to protect against quantum computing threats. This system would require anyone attempting to move vulnerable Bitcoin to provide matching collateral. This would give prepared owners the opportunity to reclaim both their Bitcoin and the collateral if an attempt is made to steal it.
