Unchained reports that as of November 5, the Central Bank of Nigeria requires offshore stablecoin issuers to incorporate locally. These issuers must maintain a capital of 10 to 15 billion naira and back their tokens with an additional 2% in reserves. This regulation aims to strengthen oversight of stablecoin operations within Nigeria.
